meet the artist
Holli Anne Curry Schneekloth is the artist and founder of Holli Anne Curry Illustrations (HACI), a visual storytelling studio specializing in illustration, murals, graphic design, and expressive fine art.
A quiet but defining part of her process begins with a simple tool: her father’s level. A brick mason by trade, his work was grounded in precision, structure, and craft. Holli often incorporates his level into larger projects - a practical tool and a personal ritual - carrying his presence with her as she builds each piece, layer by layer.
Creativity has been a constant thread throughout her life, beginning in childhood at her grandparents’ home, where she spent hours drawing with crayons and pencils, filling typing paper with sketches and collage from magazines. Those early experiences shaped a lifelong connection to making, exploring, and visual storytelling.
A pivotal influence came in elementary school when her teacher, Renate Schulte, gifted her a sketchbook and encouraged her to draw everything, a moment that continues to shape her work today.
Holli studied at Coe College, earning a BA in Computer Design (Graphic Design) in 1997. She built a career spanning more than 30 years in graphic design and communications, while raising a family of five with her husband, L.J., a constant source of support. In June 2025, she stepped into a new chapter, launching HACI to fully pursue her passion for creating through storytelling, design, and large-scale mural work.
Her artistic approach is centered on layering (paint, pencil, texture, and mixed media) building depth through color, movement, and intentional composition. Her work is known for its vibrant energy, even in quieter moments, with a strong emphasis on color theory, motion, and expressive mark-making.
Holli believes art has the power to illuminate, connect, and transform. Through her work, she creates scenes that invite deeper meaning—spaces where storytelling, emotion, and visual experience come together.
Holli invites you to explore how your space can tell the story of you through a work that illuminates your mission and your purpose through art and the transformative magic of stepping into color and space.
